
Mayukh
Mayukh Gangopadhyay is a young Sarod player who has been studying the instrument for over 22 years, drawing from a blend of the Imdadkhani and Shahjahanpur Gharanas.
He began his musical training at the age of six under the guidance of Pt. Alok Lahiri. He later continued his studies under Sri Sohom Chatterjee and Smt. Troilee Dutta, a prominent disciple of the late Pt. Kamal Mallik. Currently, he is a disciple of Pandit Abhik Mukherjee and Pandit Arnab Chakrabarty.
Academically, Mayukh holds an engineering degree in Biotechnology. He has been awarded the CCRT National Scholarship for Young Musicians by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and has earned the title of ‘Vadya Bisharad’ from the Sarbabharatiya Sangeet and Kala Parishad (All India Council for Art & Culture).
