Aninha Paschoal & Carol Benigno

Aninha Paschoal is a self taught Brazilian singer and percussionist whose musical journey began with capoeira and an exploration of Brazilian popular traditions. After moving to Spain in 2011 she became a professional musician, immersing herself in maracatu, chorinho and forró. Since then she has toured Europe with various projects, performing at festivals and events across the continent.
In 2019 she founded Forró do Pulpo in Mallorca, the island’s first forró group. She also performs in ensembles such as Duo Yemanjá and Duo Baião de Duas, all celebrating the richness of Brazilian music.

Carol Benigno is a Brazilian accordionist currently living in Portugal. Born into a family of forrozeiros, she has been playing the accordion since she was 10 years old and has performed with several renowned forró artists and groups. She works academically in Ethnomusicology and Music Education. Carol has released an original album, Lampejo, and has performed at several events and festivals in Europe, including Portugal, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
