Akajú

Nobody knows exactly how it began—least of all them—but it did. Each was traveling along their own musical path, admiring the other’s work, until those paths finally crossed. After many years at the helm of two emblematic Barcelona-born World Music projects (Saffran! and MiraMundo), and each long accustomed to the intimacy of its own strings, Francesca & Luiz decided to explore, in duet, how their two charismatic voices could dance together.
Their music invites listeners on a journey across continents through original compositions and treasured classics, weaving jazzy melodies with groovy rhythms, to the beat of boleros, swings, waltzes, and sambas—carried by waves flowing from Latin America to the Mediterranean.
